Scavengers is entering a new phase of closed playtesting. Your participation and feedback will help to define the game’s ongoing development - your voice matters.
The Alpha playtest phase isn’t a polished beta - you can expect to see bugs, varied performance, and balance issues. However, by participating you get to be one of the first Explorers to venture into the frozen wasteland of Scavengers, and join the development team in this crucial step in the game’s development.
How can I join a Playtest?
Our playtests take place on Steam.
You can get a steam code by submitting your email address on our homepage here or using the sign up button at the top of this page. Once you’ve done that a Steam code will be sent to you shortly before the next playtest.
If you’ve already signed up and have a steam code, you don’t need to do anything further. You can just access the game through the Steam app when the playtest happens.
When is the next Playtest?
The planning for our next Technical Playtest is already underway, and we can’t wait to welcome you all back to the world of Scavengers. Get ready to team up, gear up, and prepare for those storms.
What are the minimum specs for the Playtest?
Windows 10 Processor: Core i5-6500 or equivalent
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 / AMD Radeon R9 380
RAM: 8 GB DirectX: Version 11
Can I stream the Playtest?
At the moment, we are not permitting the sharing of any content from Scavengers during our Technical Playtest. This includes streaming, images, social posts or articles sharing impressions.
We’ll let you know when streaming is available. Keep an eye out for updates on our website and social channels. If you’re a content creator and are interested in future streaming opportunities, feel free to send an email to email@example.com and we’ll get back to you.
Can I play Scavengers on PS4/Xbox?
Our playtests are only on Steam right now. The game will be available on consoles in the future. Keep an eye out for future news on this via our website and social channels.
Will the progress I make in the Playtests be carried over to the final game?
Player progress and any character unlocks made during the playtests will not transfer over in the final game release.
We’re still tweaking and refining Scavengers and we’re looking for your feedback and input during the playtests to help with technical developments and improvements that you’ll see reflected in the final game.
When will Scavengers be out of Alpha?
We’ll be going into Closed Alpha and Beta later this year.
My game crashed during a playtest! What happened?
Sorry about that! You should see a window come up with crash details and a button to send a crash report to us. This is an expected part of our Technical Playtest process, so please send the report and we’ll take a look at what happened and fix it for the next playtest.
The performance is bad...why is that?
Optimization is still ongoing, so for the moment you may need to set your graphics settings a little lower than you’d expect on other titles. However, if you could pass along your system specs and what your current graphics settings are, that’d help us a lot with future optimization. Remember, your feedback is key!
How do I find my friend in-game and join their team?
While in the lobby you should see Explorers Online to the right. Simply search the drop down menu or type in your friend’s username to invite them to your group.
I’ve got some feedback, how do I share this with you?
We’d love to hear it! You can share your feedback via the in-game survey, or if in our Discord Playtest chat channels.
